For the Carlton TV's sit com series, Barbara, we were required to create the illusion of a caravan travelling out of control, after becoming unhitched from the towing car. We decided for the shots required, to rig a motorcycle inside the caravan to carry out all the travelling shots. It needed to be removable to allow the reinstatement of the complete interior of the caravan when required for internal shots. We designed, constructed and fitted a release mechanism that would allow the caravan to be unhitched from the tow car whilst moving at a speed of up to 30mph.
